Two Years Old!

As many of you know, Caleb turned two on June 25th.  We had a fun party to celebrate his birthday with a Bugs & Butterflies theme.  We even got to celebrate with his cousins Trey, Reese & Drake who were turning three on June 29th!

Also, we went to Caleb's 2 year doctor check-up and he and he's in the 90th percentile for both height and weight.  He was absolutely great at the doctor and just laughed as the doctor was examining him.  :)

Here's a picture from the day of his actual birthday.  Elmo came to visit and he was SUPER excited!!!

We had a cake on his birthday and he loved that we were signing to him and he go to blow out the candle.  His cake had a tractor on it, which is one of his favorite things right now.

Here are some pictures from his party:

Yum!  This frosting is good!

Here's a video of the group signing happy birthday to Caleb.  When we were done he kept saying "more happy...more happy" so that we would sing the song again.  :)  He's such a cutie-pie...Patrick and I can't believe that he's already two years old!

Outside?

When will this winter be O-V-E-R???  I'm thinking that probably all Minnesotans are wondering that right now.  I know that our 21 month old toddler is definitely thinking that because the one word Patrick and I hear the most these days is "Outside?....Outside?....Outside?"  He has such a sweet little voice I feel so bad that we can't go outside as much as he wants to.  Luckily the weather has warmed up a little and we have been able to get outside more.  Caleb has been loving it and I have some cute shots of him playing in his winter gear.

Sledding with Dad!
Sunshine!
Favorite thing...pretending like he's driving the car.
Driving his own car...this one is more his size.

In order to get some of that toddler energy burned off we go to indoor playgrounds a lot.  Today we met up with cousins Kellan and Hadley at an indoor play area at Ridgedale Mall (they brought Uncle Erik with them).  Caleb, Kellan and Hadley had so much fun together.  Here are some pictures of the cousins playing...

Sliding together
Caleb is driving the truck while Hadley rides shotgun.
Jumping!!!
Here's a good picture I got of Uncle Erik.
Patrick is having fun driving the truck too.  :)
We love our cousins!!!!! And picking our nose.  :)
I also try to get ideas for indoor activities and games from this website.  Check it out if you are looking to burn some toddler energy on a cold or rainy day.  Fun Toddler Activities

Visiting the Children's Museum

Patrick, Caleb and I visited the Minnesota Children's Museum this weekend.  We've never been there before but have heard really good things about it...and it did not disappoint!  Caleb had an absolute ball with all the fun exhibits.  But before I put up the pictures of us enjoying the museum, I wanted to include our latest family shot.  We're thinking we'll save this one for next year's Christmas card.  :)

Here are the pictures from the Children's Museum.  Caleb is walking over the bridge in one of the exhibits.  He was very proud of himself and wanted to do it over and over again.

The museum has an exhibit with a pretend city and Caleb loved to drive the bus.  Recently he has been obsessed with sitting in the driver seat of our cars and pretending like he's driving, so this was the perfect exhibit for him.

Also, the city exhibit had a grocery store and Caleb was able to get our family grocery shopping done for the week.  :)  He really liked pushing the cart around.

The museum had some therapy dogs there on Saturday for the kids to go pet them and read a book to them.  Caleb loved petting the "doggies."

Here he is crawling through a tunnel while some weird guy's hand tries to grab him.  :)

Last stop at the museum was water world!  So much fun to play in the water and bubbles.

Here he is watching in awe as a big bubble floats away.  He had so much fun...I'm sure we'll be back very soon (especially if this cold weather continues much longer).

Caleb Lately & California Vacation

Here's some new information on our little man.  He's 19 months old now and talking so much.  He likes to imitate everything that Mom and Dad do and he's such a goof ball too!  We also get our share of tantrums too.  They typically come from frustration from not being able to do something, either because he can't figure it out or because Mom and Dad won't let him.  A couple weeks ago, he threw a tantrum because I wouldn't let him play in the street.  I know...I'm such a mean mom!  :)

Caleb had his 18 month check-up and is still a very healthy boy.  He's right on track for both physical and mental development.  He weighed 29 lbs (83rd percentile) and was 34 inches long (86th percentile).

Here are some pictures of Caleb doing some if his favorite things:

Trying on Dad's shoes
Playing in his new Cozy Coupe
Playing on his slide and ball pit
Playing on the iPad
Wearing hats (and he can put them on himself, so don't try to help him)  :)
Reading books

Here's a video of Caleb being goofy and also saying some of our favorite words.  The way he says cock-a-doodle-doo, purple and bubble is sooooo cute!

Also, Patrick and I just got back from a long weekend in San Francisco.  Patrick was out in California for work and I joined him on Thursday.  My mom watched Caleb while we were gone and he had such a fun time with Gaga!  :)  Patrick and I had a really great time in California.  Here are a few pictures from our trip:
