Mother's Day

Patrick and I got to spend a weekend away for Mother's Day and we travelled up north to Grand View Lodge.  We've stayed there before and loved it, so we decided it was time for another visit.  Luckily, my mom was willing to watch Caleb over the weekend.  Patrick and I had an awesome time....we visited the spa, went hiking, Patrick went golfing and got to go to a wine tasting.  Such a relaxing weekend, but I was so excited to get back to see Caleb!

Patrick and I stayed at this awesome cabin on Grand View's property that was right on a lake.  Amazing!!!  If my little boy was there I could've stayed much longer than a weekend.  :)  Patrick was pretty amazed by the cabin too....here's a shot of his reaction.

Our cabin had an awesome kitchen too.  Would've been nice if we were planning on making a meal there....but it was nice to look at!

Here's the view from our deck....

I'm enjoying the rest and relaxation (and also a glass of wine)!

The outside of our cabin and the shot below it is the view from the dock.  Such a fun place to spend the weekend!  We can't wait to go back.

Mr. Caleb is starting to eat so much more "big people" food.  He really loves spaghetti and tonight I made beef stroganoff, which he devoured.  Of course, we still have to cut it up for him into bite-sized pieces...but he loves being able to feed himself.  He's really an independent little boy when it comes to eating.  When we try to feed him a puree now he grabs the spoon and tries to feed himself.  The self-spoon feeding isn't going so well (most of it ends up on his hands or face), but he keeps trying.

Caleb is also starting to walk when he's holding onto something.  Grandma Karen and Grandpa Joe got Caleb this walker for Chistmas and he loves pushing it around.  He's also starting to get a little more brave when he's standing and has started letting go of whatever he's holding onto to balance himself.  Won't be long until we see his first steps!

Last, Caleb loves throwing things right now!  He'll throw anything from a ball to any of his toys.  Here's a video of him fascinated with throwing his teething toy Sophie the Giraffe.  So cute!!!!!

Videos & 10 Months Old

I've been taking a lot of videos lately of Caleb playing, crawling, laughing, etc.  I thought that I would post these so you guys can see the little guy in action.  He's so much fun!  Except for the times when he's cranky because of the teeth...but luckily those times are rare and we know that as soon as the tooth pushed through he'll be back to his happy self.  Of the three teeth that looked like they were coming this week, two have pushed through.  Waiting for that third to join the crowd!

Here's a video of Caleb splashing in the tub.  He absolutely loves the water!  After you see this video, you'll understand why we have a "splash zone" warning in our bathroom.  :)

We're working on helping Caleb learn how to clap and how to play "soooo big".  Here's a video of us trying it...

Last, Caleb is now 10 months old!  He's learning so much and growing so fast.  He loves to pull himself up to standing and also really likes his independence now that he can move.  He's also figured out how to cruise along the furniture.  Along with all this moving has also come some extreme temper tantrums when Mom or Dad try to change his diaper or clothes.  He just wants to keep moving!  Here are some 10 month pictures:
