1 Year Old!

Wow!!!  I can't believe an entire year has gone by since Caleb was came into this world.  He has definitely changed our lives and puts a smile on our faces every single day.

Before I post more about Caleb's 1st birthday, here are a few shots of happenings around our house recently.  First, Caleb cut the palm of his right hand last week.  He was standing up, lost his balance, and tried to catch himself on a trunk we have in our porch.  A band-aid wouldn't stick to the palm of his hand...well, maybe it would have if he didn't keep pulling it off.  :)  I bandaged it up in a way so he couldn't pull it off.  He was very interested in his bandage, and he kept opening and closing his hand.

Also, we had some birthday presents delivered to our house and Caleb loved playing in the boxes they came in.  Wait...did I say Caleb liked playing in them, because it looks like I'm actually in the box.  :)

Now, back to Caleb's 1st birthday.  We had a big BBQ on Saturday to celebrate his birthday.  We were lucky enough to have many of our family attend the party and great weather as well.  Caleb had an absolute blast playing with his cousins.  We had the kiddie pool, water table and many other toys out for all the little kids to play with.  The party was a lot of fun and a great way to celebrate Caleb's first year!

Here's the birthday boy!

Caleb absolutely loved the cake!

Last, here's a link to a photo montage that I put together for people to view at the party of pictures of him from birth to 12 months.  Enjoy!!!

Catching up....

I'm sorry it's been so long since I last posted on here!  I've got a lot of news to share, so here it goes......

Caleb was 11 months old on May 25th!  Here's his 11 month picture...such a cutie pie.

Also, Caleb is cruising a lot more on the furniture and has even become brave enough to let go and stand without holding onto something.  He'll stand there for about 10 seconds and then sit back down once he realizes what he's doing.  With standing more he's finding more fun things to play with.  Here's a shot of him pulling all the books off the shelf in his room.

Did I just mention that with more mobility, comes more fun things to play with?  :)  Here's a picture of Caleb exploring the bathroom where he found the toilet paper roll.  And yes, this picture is from late-May although Caleb is wearing some winter pajamas.  Minnesota spring temperatures can be extreme.

"Oh, hi Mom...you found me."

Here's a shot of us enjoying the warm Minnesota spring temperatures.  We got Caleb a kiddie pool and he simply loves it.  He's such a water baby....definitely happiest when he's splashing.  Sierra and Summit were pretty interested in what Caleb was doing in what they thought was their massive outdoor water dish.

Also, my dad visited us this past week and we had a great time hanging out with "Papa".  Caleb's cousins Kellan and Hadley (18 months old) came up on Wednesday night with my brother so we could all spend some time playing together and seeing Papa.  It's fun to see Caleb interacting more with his cousins.  Here is a picture of Kellan and Caleb playing together.

Here's a shot of all the kids wanting to tickle the ivories.  Playing the piano was quite a hit!

Last, Patrick and I took Caleb to the mall on Saturday and bought him a pair of shoes.  He hasn't worn hard-sole shoes before, so I'm sure it'll take a while for him to get used to these.  We won't have him start wearing them until he starts walking, but we still wanted to buy them since they're so freakin' cute. We got him a pair of the smallest Crocs available...here's a picture of them.  I wanted to take the picture next to a tennis ball so in 10 years we could remember how small his little feet were when he was almost one year old.

Oh yeah...last but not least, Caleb is done with the helmet!!!!!!  We got the okay from the doctor on Monday, June 4th.  He wore it for just over 19 weeks and his head now looks great.  I'm glad we did it, but so glad we're done (I'm sure Caleb is glad he's done too).  :)
