21 Weeks

We've made it to the half-way point! We're at 21 weeks along and so far things are going really well. We had an ultrasound and the baby is very healthy. Also, I'm learning that we have a very active child. When I sit down after a long day at work, Baby K likes to "kick" Mom.

Other than being jabbed in the side, I'm feeling great right now. No more 1st trimester symptoms and I'm not so big yet to be too uncomfortable. I think that this might be the "honeymoon period". :) Patrick and I have done a few things to get ready for Baby K. First, we bought a stroller for the baby. We were dreaming of the warmer days ahead when we can go out for walks once the baby is born. We got the Baby Jogger City Elite and I'm super excited about it! It folds up so fast, it's amazing! We don't have the stroller yet (we ordered it), but obviously we don't need it yet since I don't think Sierra & Summit would like being in a stroller during their walks. Here's a picture:

We also had our 20 week ultrasound last Friday. We couldn't recognize much of what we saw. From the front, the baby's face looked a little like a scary mask. The baby is very healthy! All the limbs are there and the internal organs look great. We decided that we didn't want to find out if the baby is a boy or girl...so we'll all just have to wait until Baby K joins the world! I think it's going to be hard to wait, but it'll be a nice surprise in July. One thing we know for sure is that the baby keeps growing! Here is a picture of me at a little over 21 weeks along. Baby Bump - 18 Weeks

Baby K is definitely starting to make an appearance!  We'll be 18 weeks on Sunday and my baby bump keeps getting bigger.  I love my maternity jeans that I got (they are so comfortable) and think that it's soon going to be time to switch to maternity dress pants for work.  The baby is going to need more room soon.  I've even had a few people ask if I'm pregnant...so I must be starting to show.  Here's a picture of me at 17 1/2 weeks.

 

Patrick and I also found the crib and dresser for the baby's room.  We got an amazing deal on the dresser!  We bought the floor model (it was in great shape), so we got a $500 dresser/changing table for $175.  :)  We then ordered the crib (I didn't feel quite as comfortable buying the floor model of the crib) and we just got a call that it has arrived at the store.  The baby's room is starting to come together!  We already have the dresser in the nursery, so here's a picture of the dresser/changing table:

And...last but not least, we're starting to fill up little Baby K's closet.  Of course, there's a UCF onesie in there.  :)  Don't be fooled by the blue clothing...there's some purple clothing right behind (we have no idea if this baby is a boy or a girl).
